Assessments we offer

A Child’s Song offers a number of cross discipline assessments for children designed increase the knowledge and understanding of parents and other support people in a child’s world. Recommendations generated from the assessments offer tools that better equip adults to support a child and offer a therapeutic environment for the child to grow and succeed. We understand that children who have been adopted or who are in care have experienced a wide range of adverse circumstances during their early development, often beginning in eutero. Most problematic behaviors or symptoms that we see in children are a form of communication about the way they feel about themselves, the way their body feels or the obstacles that seem to prevent them from experiencing success.

Our assessments at A Child’s Song are trauma-informed, collaborative and intentinally consider the parent child attachment relationship as essential and central to any intervention plan. All assessments are delivered in a manner that is sensitive to the child’s early experiences and their current attachment security and perceived sense of safety in certain environments.
